Sergio Pérez, who joined Red Bull in 2021, announced his departure from the team following the conclusion of the 2024 season. Despite a strong start, Pérez faced challenges throughout the season, leading to a mutual agreement to part ways. 

In a major shakeup for the Formula 1 grid, Red Bull Racing has confirmed that New Zealand’s Liam Lawson will partner reigning world champion Max Verstappen for the 2025 season, replacing Sergio Pérez after a four-year stint with the team.

The announcement comes after weeks of speculation about Red Bull’s second seat. Lawson, 22, has been part of the Red Bull Junior Team since 2019 and made a notable impression during his Formula 1 debut in 2023.
