The incident began when a group of drunk golfers began harassing restaurant staff after being denied service due to their disruptive behavior. One man allegedly shoved the manager, prompting Bissonnette to step in, urging the aggressor to stop harassing employees. This intervention, however, escalated the situation. Within seconds, Bissonnette was confronted by multiple men, leading to a violent brawl both inside the restaurant and in the parking lot.

According to Bissonnette, the fight was intense and chaotic. His shirt was torn, his shoes flew off, and he endured multiple punches and kicks, including three strikes to his head and neck. Despite being overwhelmed, he fought back and managed to evade serious harm, eventually finding refuge in a nearby CVS.

The Scottsdale Police Department corroborated parts of his story, confirming that six men were involved in the altercation. They have since been charged with offenses ranging from disorderly conduct to felony assault. One individual also faces charges related to a forged military ID.

Bissonnette later expressed his frustration, not just at the attackers but also at the situation’s impact on the restaurant staff, whom he described as “respectful and talented.” Despite his injuries, he remained defiant, declaring his intent to seek justice against those responsible. Surveillance footage reportedly captured the incident, which has yet to be publicly released​.
